21 November 2025, Entebbe- Uganda: the IGAD Security Sector Program (IGAD-SSP) convened a three-day bilateral workshop on 18-20 November 2025 in Entebbe, Uganda bringing together senior officials from Ethiopia and Uganda to strengthen cooperation against human trafficking, smuggling of migrants, illicit financial flows, and related transnational threats. The workshop provided a platform for criminal intelligence officers, prosecutors, financial intelligence units, border agencies, and justice officials to jointly examine the complexity of trafficking and smuggling networks and to strengthen bilateral mechanisms for combating them.

20 October 2025, Djibouti: the IGAD Security Sector Program (IGAD-SSP) conducted a three-days regional technical workshop on 13-15 October 2025 in Djibouti that brought together technical experts from all IGAD Member States where the operational and legal readiness of the IGAD Criminal Information/Intelligence Sharing mechanism on all issues of Transnational Security Threats (TSTs) were thoroughly discussed.

The event brought together delegates from IGAD Member States, regional institutions, private sector innovators, and experts.
